The event is organized by Copter Express, a developer and manufacturer of unmanned civil aircraft. a A division of Copter Express is Fablab "Сopter”, which will conduct educational activities on the design, assembly, calibration, piloting and programming of quadcopters.
School seniors, students and college and university graduates with interest in unmanned aerial systems, knowledge in the fields of aerodynamics, electrical engineering and programming skills are invited to participate free of charge. This is an excellent opportunity to work on an interesting project in an excellent company.
In the competition, the participants will have to unite in teams and complete a practical task. To assemble unmanned aerial systems, the participants will be provided with the parts for future devices and the programmable quadcopter kit "Clever 3", and they also can participate and implement the project on your own copter!
«Copter Hack» will begin on Friday, October 19th, в 19:00. On this day, the teams will talk about themselves and will be given Clever Drone Kits to work with.
On October 21st, the final speech and presentations of the developed projects to the jury will take place. The jury will determine the winners to be awarded prizes, and the best developers will be offered work in the Copter Express company.

Before the event, everyone will be able to attend a free lecture course, which will begin on October 2nd. This is an excellent opportunity to gain unique knowledge, then to team up and apply them in practice.
Copter Express prepared a course of 5 lectures on unmanned autonomous systems specifically for participants of the hackathon.

- Introduction. What are Copters and what are they made of? What functions and tasks can they perform? Operation principles. In which areas are drones used? Autonomous flight demonstration. Assembly. Practical lesson.
Introductory lecture. In the introductory lesson you will get acquainted with the course program and learn: why do drones fly and do not fall? What elements does any quadcopter consist of? What commercial drones applications are especially popular? Hackathon goals and objectives. Indoor drone autonomous flight demonstration. Questions and answers.
How to perform quadcopter assembly, using the example of the educational drone kit "Clever 3". What warrants attention, how to improve your quadcopter. What elements are used in the drone kit and how they work together.
11th october, 19:00 — 22:00
- Lesson # 2: Configuring the flight controller, piloting basics.
1. What you need to know to configure the Pixhawk flight controller. Description of the Qground program. Calibrating a quadcopter assembled in lesson # 1.
2. Basics of drone piloting. What to consider during line-of-sight piloting and during autonomous flight.
16th october, 19:00 — 22:00
- Lesson # 3: UAV flight control. Approaches to autonomous operation.
The issues of drone flight control, the functionality of the on-board computer systems and their interaction during radio controlled flights and flights under the control of an on-board or external computer.
18th october, 19:00 — 22:00
- Lesson # 4: Autonomous copter control on the PX4 using the Raspberry Pi 3 on-board computer with a camera.
Pixhawk flight controller, firmware PX4 and APM. The MAVLink protocol. Use of a single board computer for on-board data analysis and calculation of control commands. Use of machine vision to navigate indoors.

The hackathon organizers will provide the teams with around the clock access to the competition site, workplaces, the recreation area, as well as wireless Internet and food.
At the end of the Hackathon, the winners will be granted prizes and presents from Copter Express and other event partners.
For those who can not attend the lectures and the hackathon personally, an online broadcast will be organized.
